From the desk of Alison Gibson, Director
Once again, the Ripley Library will have RULH alumni tickets for sale and we just got the first batch. This got us thinking about yearbooks, and we were gifted the 1957 Ripple recently. The 1957 yearbook has pictures of all of the grades which is pretty uncommon. Here is a random pick of the 3rd grade class, and we welcome you to visit the library to peruse the other classes, clubs and officers. Fun reading.
We are hoping you have ‘saved the date’ for our Jazz Alive program on Sunday April 13th from 2-4 pm. . Some of the fabulous performers have been here before, but singer Kathy Wade will be a new voice for Ripley. We looked around for some information about her, and we are very fortunate to have this Emmy award winning vocalist joining the ensemble! She is an internationally known jazz singer, has opened for the likes of Eartha Kitt, Dionne Warwick and Kenny G.. She also co-founded Learning Through Art, Inc. and is heavily involved with BooksAliveForKids.com and has created the free BooksAlive app which supports both reading and social literacy. (Hmm, sounds like a good fit for libraries!) So please join us April 13th for what should be a great musical event.
