LIBRARY TALK – FEBRUARY 19, 2023
From the desk of Alison Gibson, Director
No flood postcards this week. Instead, we pulled this one as we thought this was a fun postcard to look at—and while there is no postmark, we can date it pretty well. If you look closely at the right-hand side before the Presbyterian church, you will see something that looks a little like a corral—it is actually the foundation of house 126/130 N. Second Street. It was built in 1908. Lots of other things to look at if you zoom in.
We will be closed Monday February 20th in observation of President’s Day. We recommend picking out a biography on a president—any of them, or pick one from just Ohio (U.S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, James Garfield, Benjamin Harrison, Wm. McKinley, Wm. Howard Taft and Warren G. Harding) Did you realize that 2 of the 4 presidents that were assassinated in office came from Ohio? (James Garfield and Wm. McKinley)
