Thanks to all that came to the Apollo 11 talk last Sunday.  Special thanks to Tom Zachman for all of the time and dedication he put in preparing for his lively and educational talk— a great mix of facts, models,  personal experiences and pictures helped bring alive that still incredibly amazing feat rocketing to and walking on the moon.

This Friday, we will be showing Apollo 11 voyage in feature film format in the annex at 7:00 p.m. This film runs over 2 hours, so fair warning, our banquet chairs tend to get a bit stiff to sit in for long periods of time, so you might consider bringing a pillow…

Next Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Ripley Library, we welcome Becca Wise as she tells children’s stories using ASL (American Sign Language). Becca has been an educational sign language interpreter for over 26 years and loves to share her talent with everyone.

There is still a little over 3 weeks to finish your summer reading program log—don’t stop now! We’ve enjoyed seeing kids wearing their t-shirts, and we still have a few left, and not everyone that signed up has reached their goal.  Teachers will be impressed with your summer reading, parents should be proud, and of course, we hope all the kids that signed up have had a good time with reading, crafts and friendship this summer.
