LIBRARY TALK – APRIL 18, 2019

The walls look bare in the annex after all the artwork was taken down yesterday afternoon when the art show was over. The talent displayed during the 3rd annual Ripley Painters & Photographers spring show was quite good, and the extra touch of the RULH 4thgrader’s bird sculptures added a nice touch of whimsy and talent.

Coming up in the next few weeks:  One Wednesday, April 24th from 6-7 p.m. in the Ripley Library meeting room, the Brown County Health Department will be holding an informational and training session on the use of NARCAN (the nasal spray that is used if someone has overdosed with an opioid—such as heroin and prescription drugs oxycodone and morphine). This program is free and open to everyone. The Russellville Branch library will be having the same program in late May.

For a change of pace, we’ve gone to the ‘dark side’ with a program presented by Jay Kathman of the Cincinnati Museum Center. On Sunday, April 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the library annex, Jay will talk about the Sad, Seamy, Sinister Side of Cincinnati—murders, grave robbers epidemics and more! This is a program appropriate for adults as some of the tales are pretty seamy and sinister…
