Library Talk May 11, 2017

Thanks to Denise Bollinger for her very educational essential oils talk last week—due to the positive turn-out, we are asking her to repeat the program at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1st at the Russellville Branch library.

On Saturday, June 3rd starting at 9:00 a.m., the Ripley Friends of the Library will be having a book sale in the annex—just think, room to browse, Friends will have the opportunity really sort the books better, and we have been getting some very nice donations. These dates will be here before you know it, so please mark your calendars!

The other day someone asked if we knew a place they could fax something—this made me realize that not everyone knows that all three of our libraries have a dedicated fax line so our patrons can receive as well as send faxes. There is a charge to send, but what I understand is our charge is lower than most, and we do not charge anything for receiving a fax.  This past Monday morning we actually had a line waiting to send faxes here at Ripley. All three libraries also have a scanner if you want to send a picture or document via email, we all have copiers, with Ripley and Aberdeen having color copiers that do a beautiful job.  All of our public use computers are tied into color and black & white printers. All three also have access to WiFi during library hours.

With the end of school rapidly approaching, we are busy tweaking the details for our Summer Reading Program— Build a Better World is the theme, but in our hearts, the theme every year is to keep kids reading, and in the summer, it is reading for fun! Crafts and guest speaker programs are being developed, and sign-up will be early June. Stay tuned for details.
